Great RPG game!
This is a great roleplaying game. Easy to play and brilliant graphics. I disagree with other reviewers about needing the manual to play. I figured out how to play this game in a matter of minutes. I am well used to playing RPG and started off with the... more

Good, but find the original releases.
Baldur's Gate II is the best RPG I've ever played. That being said, this is an awful release. The original box came with an excellent spiral-bound manual when you needed to look something up. Alt-tabbing back and forth between Adobe Acrobat is not fun,... more

Boring boring game
I hate this crappy game. I hate because first of all the little characters on your screen are tiny. I like starcraft and stuff, but you got little guys that you control that are tiny. You can barely see them. Secondly you have to read these huge conversations... more

Good Lord!
Is this a great game or a great game? well i can tell you its even beter it's one of the best games ever made. When you have start played it you will never play anything else ever again you will only play this game for the rest of your life. Well meby... more

Too many stats in the game play, great graphics.
When we finally got this game to load, it was another waiting
period simply to build a character. We prefer RPGs like Revenant
and Doom and Quake series; and in all honesty expected something
like that in this game. However it runs more... more

Several hundred hours of addictive play
Its graphics may be a bit dated (they were even when the game came out) but if you can look beyond that, this is one seriously awesome collection. Baldur's Gate 2 has incredible RPG depth, a strong tactical aspect, and great replay value. The expansion... more

The best pc OR video game I have ever played.
What more can I add beyond my title? If you're a graphics snob, you're not going to be reading reviews on games more than 12 months old anyway. This, along with Planescape: Torment, are the only two games that have TOTALLY absorbed me from start to... more

5 stars for SoA, and 3 for ToB
BG2:SoA was one of the best RPG's I've ever played. There's a tremendous amount of story, and so many characters to choose from. The plot's great, and I like the lack of linearity with the side quests. BioWare's Infinity Engine is by far one of the... more

Good game - but beware
Overall, this is an excellent sequel to the original Baldur's Gate series. But beware, if you have a wireless mouse, especially itouch, you won't be able to play the game at a level that you would like. Apparently, there is a bug with the software which... more

Hands Down, This Is The Best RPG Ever
This is the game the transformed me into from a once-in-a-while-gamer into a hardcore gamer.

Why is BG2 so great?
BG2 has the ultimate non-linear story line. You can play it loads of different ways, all with different outcomes, because... more

Ultimate Computer RPG... EVER!!!
This is without doubt, the best computer roleplaying game I have ever played - and I've played many over the years, including many since this one. For D&D fans or not, this game has some of the best plot, story, graphics, battles, and variety. The mage... more

A Great Game
This is, without a doubt, a great game. It's improved greatly - the on screen graphics look much better. I don't really like the new "paper doll" figures though. I also don't like the new world map very much...
But, other than that, I like this... more

As I Write I Play it Minimized...
There have been a lot of great RPG's lately, especially in the Massively Multiplayer arena. And there have been a lot of great RPG's in the past as well. Baldur's Gate is a great RPG that seems to have fallen right in the middle of the golden age of... more

Does it get any better than this?
I love this game. i have played thru it over and over, and then throne of bhaal came out and i played it over and over some more. sure, there are a few things i don't like and think are missing, but you are so busy playing you soon are wrapped up again... more

Anything less would be uncivilized.
Simply put, this is the best CRPG I've ever played. The only recent CRPG that comes close to is NWN:Hordes of the Underdark, and even then it's far too short an experience to make it the equal of BG2 and BG2:TOB. Words cannot express the beauty of this... more

Best Party-based CRPG for the PC
Based on a hybrid version of 2nd and 3rd Edition D&D rules, this games allows you to create one character and pickup up to five others to round out your adventuring party. Unlike most games where the NPCs just do what you tell them, these will complain... more

Unmet Expectations
The Baldur's Gate Infinity engine really shows its age as you squint at poorly animated, hideously ugly graphics. Graphics do not make a game, of course, but they can help. Here they don't.

Nor does the actual gameplay. Again we're presented with the... more

Three years after buying it I STILL love this game!
Let's face it...most computer games you buy will present an interesting novelty for MAYBE a couple months at most before you get bored and retire it to the shelf or sell it used to someone else. Not so with this great game!! It's still novel even after... more

A Computer Game Epic
This is a remarkably good value for a game set that will entertain you for hundreds of hours (if you do all the side quests and everything). It tells a good story, provides you with ample chances to exercise tactically-sophisticated combat, and is overall... more

Great game
This game is huge, and can take a really long time to complete...but that is a good thing. I don't get to play very often, and I found the newer journal system to be much more useful than in the first Baldur's Gate.
