The good, the bad, and for who?
I've played this game for about 4-5 months now and here's what I've discovered it's very repetitive. There are seven major things you can do in this game leveling, crafting, fishing, making money, quests, and missions. All of which can only be done independent of each other so you cannot level your character and make money at the same time effectively, thus all seven things consume a lot of time. Leveling takes the most time expect to sit at your computer for 3-5 hours before you gain one level that encompasses "forming a party", "getting to your destination to level" and finally "actually getting experience points". This game is a very "Party" oriented game almost everything you do with the exception of "crafting", "fishing", "making money", and some "quests" requires you to be in a party. The rewards in this game are few but great, but this game makes your work for it at times you will hate this game and find yourself cursing in chat at this game and other times it can be very fun. This game requires a lot of skill, there is a lot of depth to this game down to the phase of the moon, time of the day and day of the week can have an impact on what happens.
Major problems with this game is "gil sellng" ("gil" is the currency used in the game) or in game money selling since this game is so money oriented and you don't get a lot of money for doing quest or missions there are people from all around the world that sell in game money for real money as sad as that sounds it's true. It has a big impact on the game for one inflation things are crazy expensive because the "gil sellers" camp all of the monsters that drop valuable items and sell them in the game for "gil" and in turn sell that "gil" for real life money. Now remember these folks are getting paid real money to play this game so they can spend 24 hours a day 7 days a week doing this. You might be thinking these guys can't be everywhere but they are believe me they travel in groups of 3-5 and all they do is kill things and sell them at the auction house for gil and sell that gil to people for real money. Is the Square Enix doing anything to stop people from selling gil online NO to date there has been no official word or progress report as to how Square Enix will remedy this problem. Another problem in this game is population the areas in this game are too small and sometimes it can be very crowded and very competitive for that monster you need to kill for experience points sometimes you will wait 5-10 minutes because all the monsters have been taken and you need to wait till they spawn again. Is this because there are a lack of servers no, when you leveling your character you need to go to specific places and sometimes there can be more players than there is room this is a problem on all servers.
Is this game for everyone NO if you can't afford to sit at your PC for 3-5 hours at a time forget it cancel your order now because you will just be wasting money. You won't get anywhere period. If you think this game is just hack and slash forget it cancel your order now and save yourself some money and aggravation. This game requires alot of attention to detail inorder to advance and have fun.
