Player killers will make you quit.
When I started this game I was very optimistic. The controls took time to get used to, but after 10+ hours I grew to like the ease of casting spells. You start this game off on a little place called Talking Island. A good starting point for all levels under 10, with small quests and minimal challenge. The problem with it is that in Lineage II, you have the option to kill other players. Many high levels hang out at Talking Island just to kill all the low levels. Which normally wouldn't be a problem, but when you die in Lineage II, you lose a considerable amount of experience. So you're leveling for 1 hour to gain 1/2 a level and a guy comes along and kills you for no reason, and you lose 7% of yer experience and an item you were carrying. WTF! I wasted at least 20 hours of re-leveling just because of the mass amount of player killers. Then after you finally get experienced enough to defend yourself, it's becomes a grind to level past 20 and the game gets quite boring. Not to mention all the adena(money) exploits this game offers. Seems the only way to buy good weapons/equipment in this game is through various shady websites. You definately wont find adena leveling as you'll need to spend that money just getting by with spells and travel. If you want to waste your life and not get any rewards, go ahead and buy this game. But if you want the element of fun in a game, I would suggest another title.
