A Slightly Better Version Than Last Year's

This game is okay. I like the "see the type of pitch" feature that they have added. My biggest problem with this game is the Owner Mode. I have been looking forward to this feature for almost a year now. EASports MVP managed to take something as simple as "Owner Mode" and turn it into garbage. The Madden series has an Owner mode and it is pretty much perfect. Why EASports couldn't just recreate that Owner Mode in MVP Baseball is a huge mystery. It just doesn't make any sense. You start out with a tiny stupid ballpark that we are supposed to believe would belong to a MLB team. This ballpark isn't even on par with a Minor League A Team. Why you don't start out in the team's normal ballpark (such as Camden Yards, Dodger Stadium, Coors Field, etc) is an absolute mystery to me. You are expected to make money, but how can you when your stadium is so small and even a sell out only draws 10,000 fans. Also, they kept the Dynasty Mode, where you do play in your teams respective stadium, however, you are not able to set ticket prices and run the team like you can in Owner Mode. Why have a Dynasty Mode AND an Owner Mode? COMBINE THEM!!! It doesn't make any sort of logical sense. At first I was dissapointed to hear that EASports lost it's MLB contract and won't be making the MVP series anymore. Now that I see they can't even handle making a decent, or even semi-decent, Owner Mode, I think it is a good thing that they no longer will be making these games. The other features of the game are okay. I do like the fact that you can bring your manager out to argue calls, and possibly get him thrown out of the game. I also like the "energy" feature: Your players will slowly lose their energy over the course of games and the only way to get them back to 100% is to rest them for a game or wait until there is a day off. There are still way too many ESPN Highlight catches, 8 or 10 a game, but the graphics are nice and overall I would say it's an okay game. Is it worth $30? No. Wait until they drop the price to $19.99, I think it's worth that. Come on EASports. No pun intended here, but you guys really dropped the ball on this game. You were close, but not close enough. Is it really that hard to make a decent baseball game???
