3 great games for less than the price of one. First, I want to tell you that these games (all of them) are absolutely WinXP compatible. I've run them all on three different XP computers - including two laptops and none of them had any trouble. However you MUST set them to the proper compatibility... more
Not XP Compatible I purchased this set today...because of the great reviews other had given all three games...and it would run on XP...but it doesn't! One won't run at all and another crashes every time I play. The third game did seem to be ok, but what wa the point... more
Hard, but worth the big $$$ This game is fun, when able to play. Has compatibility issues with Windows XP, also serious issues with Quicktime. If you want to play this game, uninstall your current version on Quicktime and install the version that comes with the discs. more
A little nostalgia for my parents, a new experience for me I was too young to play the original Myst, but my mom had, and one day we were shopping at the mall and we saw this--so voila! At first I was just sort of confused--where the crap am I? What am I supposed to do with the boat? I was totally used to action... more
Great packaging of the first three MYST games I've been aware of MYST for ten years now, but only recently been able to play this game. I am also glad to get this 10th Anniversary DVD-ROM edition. Remember: be sure your computer has a DVD-ROM drive in order to run this. Anyway, MYST is a great discovery... more
Two great games for a great price So far I've only played Myst and Riven so those are the only two that I'm writing about. I've been playing adventure games for about five years but I never got around to playing Myst or Riven. I think I tried playing both a few years ago but I guess they... more
Myst is very buggy. Lots of crashes in Myst. The troubleshooting suggestions offered by Ubisoft are silly. (Make sure you have at least 24-bit graphics selected.) I solved my first crash after about an hour of trying different things. As it turned out, the latest version... more
The Myst Anniverary Collection I've read about 200 reviews on this game over the years and not one of them gets the point on what this game is about. It's hide and seek and nothing more. This is not a puzzle. It's a series a keyboard strokes that you need a guide book for. There is... more
All is not lost even if you have Windows XP I bought a whole new ($1,600) computer just to play this set of Myst games, but I found that Myst and Riven do not install under XP Pro. But I'd kept my old laptop and it had Windows ME, and Myst installed in 3 seconds! It's a 733mhz computer too! I'm... more
Definitely not for Windows XP I was very disappointed with the fact that this was adverised as a Windows XP version. I already have Myst, which I played in Windows ME shortly before getting my new computer that runs Windows XP, and I have Myst Exile. I also have a copy of Riven... more
Great collection of timeless classics for a great price! I remember playing the original Myst 10 yrs ago and being thoroughly impressed with the Rand brothers' and Cyan's attention to detail. The textures, the style of gameplay, and the music are all impeccable and were a first in the gaming industry. While... more
Great I have windows XP--just so you know. The first game I played in this three disk set was Exile, for I have played the originals of the first two games before. It ran perfectly, but that might be because I bought a brand new very up-to-date video card... more
Some of the most thought provoking games ever! I am using Windows ME and have encountered absolutely NO technical problems using any of the games in this collection.MYST - What can I say. Classic. The music is very grainy, and the sound is distorted, but the puzzles are as fun as ever. Do not... more
Works so far... I have only played Exile from this collection so far (I've played the others before), but it seems to be stable. The "making of" movies are great, and the Riven one is different from the Riven making of I've seen in the past. The interview with... more
I love this set! The Myst series are such beautiful games and I was so excited that they were released on DVD specifically for XP. The excitement lasted about 15 minutes into my first playing. . . Despite the fact that it is supposed to be made for XP, I am still... more
This Game is Broken on Windows XP The Riven DVD crashes at specific points in the game with no way to get past these points at all. I reported the issue to Ubisoft and they said that it's a known issue and they're working on a patch. They closed my support ticket thanking me for being... more
Do Not Buy!! If you are like me -- if you are someone who really does not get into computer games much because they rarely engage you beyond the first couple of hours -- Myst is a very pleasant surprise. Like many people, I am disgusted by the grotesque or mind-numbing... more
