Number of Reviews: After playing at least 50 atmospheric games, URU is not only among the best, but IS the best, so far.
The dimensions and story line is multiple layers deep, being URU takes the experience to a level of total participation, as if so close... more
Pleasantly Surprised, For the Most Part Like quite a few other gamers, I was resistant to Uru despite being a hardcore MYST fan. The notion of a Multi-player on-line experience (as URU was originally intended to be) built around the MYST concept just didn't appeal to me. Plus, scuttlebutt... more
A great buy. Adventure games have gotten abysmal, like Alida. But the Myst series helps revive the genre. I got the original Uru a whle before I got the expansion packs, but I still think that if you like Tower Island, then you will enjoy the Uru and the expansion... more
Worth playing if you can abide with the differences. If you're thinking of buying Uru, one thing to bear in mind is that although Uru is linked to the Myst series, it's just not Myst-- it's an almost totally different game (which is why URU wasn't released as "Myst 4", and why "Myst 4: Revelation" wasn't... more
Actually, pavlaki... I really wanted to play this game, being a fan of the previous three Myst puzzle games. I got it as a Christmas gift from my family and waited a little while before I loaded it. It never played. I got an opening sequence then crashed onto my desktop.... more
Want more? Look up and join us in Until Uru! The online game died. Uru Live is dead, but continues with a rebirth in the form of "Until Uru." It is several step process but there is live voice chat and lots of fun and friends waiting in the worlds/ages of Uru waiting for you!
Join us. There... more
Still Good I have to say that I dont agree with the other reviewers. Ok So I am a PC person, always have been. I didnt know until reading these reviews that Uru was PC only. I have yet to beat Uru. I find it challenging and not in the least boring. The grafics... more
ts'ok, kinda goony Not bad, not good, but not bad. The gameplay is much like other myst except for the annoying Avatar alwasy tripping up on rope. you have to get into first person alot. The online part sux too, especially if you make yerself look like a fat guy, no... more
Game play abundance My Myst Uru: Complete Chronicles (CC) experience is unusual...
At the beginning of 2004, played Uru: Ages beyond Myst (Uru Prime), later played the To D'ni expansion pack, finally played the Path of the Shell (PotS) expansion pack. This... more
Number of Reviews: to MAC users everywhere - don't fret. This game was total pants!! (pants being a Scots term meaning it sucks!!!) Nothing at all like the previous Myst games. The graphics were mediocre at best - nothing to compare with Myst 3:Exile. the... more
Absolutely Incredible This is an action/adventure gamers dream come true. You have the beauty, depth, engrossing story, challenging puzzles and overall top quality of a Myst series adventure game combined with an action style interface. Adventure gamers have been waiting a... more
Great Game with awesome visuals I've followed the Myst series from the begining. Although my system barely made the System Reqs, I had a great time with this game! The customizable character, keyboard controlled character, 1st & 3rd Point Of Views made this game one the best in ones... more
Don't meet the system requirements? Don't write a review I'm shocked and amazed at the number of people who are willing to write bad reviews about a game after admitting they don't meet the system requirements, and/or didn't pay attention to them when buying the game. This is akin to writing a review about... more
Excellent game.... and you'll need a jacket Stunning! I very much enjoyed Myst but was not as wild about Riven. Uru, sigh, wonderful. When I walked into the neon mushroom cavern where it was snowing I wanted to put a jacket on my personal avatar, and I did! It really takes YOU into the game.... more
Glitches galore! If you want to buy Uru, do not buy this version. I have a brand new Dell computer with loads of memory but this game has problems everywhere. The worst part is that some of the problems could be fixed with the patch from Ubisoft for Ages of Myst but it... more
Alot of gameplay here! Being a MYST fan, I almost didn't get this because of it going on-line as a type of MMORPG originally and I don't like those games.
But when I saw the this with both expansion packs, I couldn't resist (also had heard by then that the on-line... more
Lots of Game for the buck! Fantastic Exploration! Uru changed all my perceptions of what a PC game can be. HUGE in scope. Challenging beyond the norm. If exploration is your thing (as it is mine) then this is the game for you. This game is made up of the original Uru: Ages Beyond Myst and its subsequent... more
Fear not, Mac users! Since I also have a Mac, I share in the disappointment of Uru not being Mac compatible. However, Ubisoft has assured its customers that a Macintosh version of Uru is in the works.
The problem was that Ubisoft had chosen to build Uru around... more
The Gathered Will Tell... I have been an avid fan of the Myst series for years now and have enjoyed every title. When I originally purchased Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, it took some time to get used to the surprising changes which Cyan had incorporated: real time 3d graphics, a custom... more
