Crime and Punishment? This game is a true triumph of design. The story is the most inventive, unique one I have ever experienced on the computer (let alone in literature.) It is worth playing time and time again. The characters in it are also the best I have seen on the computer, from a talking, floating skull to an animated suit of armor striving for justice. The game play lives up perfectly to the fantastic setting and story. Your characters each are very different. One gains much of his power from the increase in power of his sacred sword which levels up with him. Your main character also increases his abilities in limitless ways, from purchasing back an eye he lost countless lives ago to switching on the fly from a mage to a warrior. This game while not perfect is just about as close as you can get (the 640 by 480 set resolution being it's largest flaw.) I recomend this to anymore who has the slightest intrest in roleplaying games.
