This Game Rocks

Rome: Total War is a fun, yet occasionaly stale, game of strategy. The confusing thing about it is the paradoxes it presents. The campaign is addictive, yet monotonus. The battle map is fun, yet insubstatial. Overall, I enjoyed the game, however it seemed to get old at times.

The real-time strategy portion provides a very entertaining and realistic battle-for those who like battle strategy, such as me. Unfortunately, if you prefer a more simplistic and less in-depth approach to battles and combat, then this is not your game. Do not buy it.
The campaign can be entertaining, but does not touch the fun or educational realism of Medieval-Total War. It does attain a certain level of enjoyment, but it honestly does get slightly dull after too long. However, it is addictive at points, and presents intresting elements to those who truly like the depth. The interesting thing is how it can be simeltaneously deep and shallow-deep in the details, but shallow in the body. To one who likes depth, this can be fun.
In short, Rome: Total War can be fun to those who are very serious strategists but boring to the casual gamer. To the former, the game is worth the price. To the latter, I would recommend AGE OF EMPIRES: THE CONQUERORS as a relatively cheap alternitive.

Actually, I'd reccomend that to the serious gamer, too.
