The game is dead
July 2003: best mmo ever, even with the bugs
When this game first came out, it was the best MMO i had played to date, no comparison. It was way buggy, but that was to be expected of a game with all its variety, such as the best crafting/resource gathering system of an mmo to date. PVP was a little unbalanced at the beginning, but realistic. Plenty of land to explore, real player housing that could be placed anywhere, player cities where you could vote, you name it, this game had everything.
November 2003: the beginning of the end
Everyone had mastered their respective professions(classes), all the major bugs had been worked out, and the only thing that was left was pvp class balancing and incentives/storyline to go with pvp(which was supposed to be the central focus of this game)
December 2003:
the development teams options NOT to fix the core part of the game, and instead gives everyone the option to become a jedi(this is done by mastering just about every class/profession in the game).
December 2003-june2004
the next 6 months of the game are spent watching everyone mindlessly grind every class in the game(some of them using in game bots called macros while they are afk), while the dev team fails to fix the core class balancing and add to the rebel vs imperial central focus of the game
btw: the space expasion was due in april
july-august 2004
the dev team adds and revamps the jedi system
october 2004
the dev team adds the space expansion, still has not balanced the classes in the game, and most people have left the game.1
