This game is a truncated version of Baldur's Gate II with 2003 graphics and lightsabers. Baldur's Gate II was far longer, more involving, had a more compelling storyline, deeper gameplay, and boasted far more satisfying romances. In an of itself, KOTOR... more

la la la
This game is great. I love star wars, I love the universe, I love the concept of this game, I love this game. Oh, and I love Rpgs. The game gets a four rating because it is an rpg, and i dont count it as "fun", rather "enjoying". You get to chose to be... more

THIS GAME IS NOT "BANTHA FODDER""
What i think of this game is for myself to think of, but as to how i think other people would like this game is based on how i think. But dont we all have our opinions! Here's mine:
GENRE: RPG/STRATEGY/ADVENTURE/ROLEPLAYING.....

A game to bolster your expectations of console ports.
Well, there goes fifty hours of my life. No, wait... Close to one hundred. I had to see the dark and light side endings, with completely different characters.

Oh, well. It just went by so quickly.

The nitty-gritty: Knights... more

Modern Masterpiece
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is a fantastically engrossing game. The visuals are everything you've come to expect from the Star Wars universe, the story is unexpected, and it all meshes together in interesting ways.

Mechanically,... more

Borefest
After being dissapointed with Neverwinter Nights, I hestitated to buy another Bioware game, but my sons persuaded me. We tried, we really tried, to play this game. It looked good and started out okay, but quickly got very, very boring. Basically, you... more

Ahhhhh.... NO!!!!!! This is terrible
Graphics are really good. A 3D world. Then the fight game system comes into play and you can not believe what you are seeing as you square off against the bad guys in 3rd person mode only for the sequence to turn into final fantasy as you strike a blow... more

Best Game Ever!!!
I had high hopes for this game and was really looking forward to playing it. Unfortunately, from the moment I loaded it to the last cut scene (which I just viewed ten minutes ago), this game has been nothing but a disappointment.

From a technical... more

A Spectacular Game
This game is a true Star Wars game, lots of action, romance, mystery, exotic settings, and, obviously, really big explosions. I must admit, I do like the Star Wars movies a lot, but this game isn't set during the times of the movies, which adds a somehow... more

Number of Reviews:
I read the reviews, and I know KOTOR II is coming out soon, so I wanted to see what all the hubbub was about. I bought a used copy at the local video game store--one that had that fancy "Game of the Year" gold medal on the box. I guess I should have been... more

This is a really great game.
I really got my money's worth with this game. It had a genuine Star Wars feel (Like the original Darth Vader type Star Wars not the pathetic Darth Maul type of Star Wars).

The graphics in this game were stunning. The game had an excellent... more

THE RPG for the Ages
This game takes the fun and statistical awareness of Dungeouns and Dragons, and the brillience of Lucas's Star Wars franchise and molds them into a cohesive, enthrawling and entangling web of a story...the you get to participate in. The experience is... more

Nothing I say here can give KOTOR any justice
This was definatly the best game I have ever played. I mean that seriously. I played for every second I had, playing for a grand total of 30 hours. The characters are amazingly complete, each having it's own backstory which ties in with the plot perfectly.... more

Great Game for Novice Computer RPGers!
I'll admit it. I come from the old school of strategy board games, RPGs (ala D&D), and simple video games (didn't have to memorize button sequences to fight something). I'd stayed away from many of the computer RPGs, but I wanted to finally break out.... more

Avoid the PC version
I'm a PC gamer. I find that the games are generally cheaper and with the right system and graphics card look and play just as good. Having said that, my biggest problem with game manufacturers is when they make PC versions of popular console games and... more

Only one complaint
I (having completed the game after choosing various styles of play) have but one complaint. The game storyline and series of events is almost exactly the same whether you choose to play a good jedi or a 'dark' jedi. The only thing that changes is that... more

The Light and the Darkness
KotOR is a very admirable effort by Bioware, renowned for its excellent Baldur's Gate fantasy roleplaying series, to bring its expertise to the Star Wars universe. Overall, the effort pays off handsomely, and I would rank this game as the best use of... more

Kotor, rocks on x-box. On pc? Dun cut it
Hands-down, the BEST game I've ever played. The graphics are amazing, the story lines are better than any of the current crop of Star Wars movies, and the characters (and their responses) can move you, anger you, inspire you AND make you burst out laughing.... more
