Number of Reviews: Yes, the graphics are good as is the voice acting but this has to be the most boring game I've ever tried to play. There is way too much talk and not enough action as the conversations go on for 5 to 10 minutes with each character. Yes you can skip the... more
5 years later... and I'm still playing! First off, this game is a amazing. I bought it five or so years ago, when it first came out, and played it through it three days straight. Immediately after completing the game, I played it through all over again. I've been playing it at least two or... more
Wow! You'll play The Longest Journey again and again! The Longest Journey is an absolutely wonderful game, and wow, do you get your money's worth! While the Myst series settles for five ages and perhaps one or two characters to interact with, Longest Journey serves up over 100 locations (!!) and more than... more
Crashes with XP It's mentioned in many other reviews but just in case you are thinking that it will work fine of your XP machine think again.
I can play the game but everytime I save, the game crashes when i try to return.
The conversations do get long... more
Didn't really like this one I had heard such great things about this game but in all reality I found it very boring. WAY too much talk, most of it irrelevant. I finished the game, but skipped most of the really bad dialogue. I would recommend Syberia and Syberia II instead. ... more
Constant crashing under XP Some Windows XP systems (such as mine) will experience constant crashing. As in every couple of minutes, or every time you save. I can still manage to play by saving (it usually crashes after you save, luckily), quitting if it didn't crash, and restarting,... more
Not Quite Like Syberia All in all a good game, however in future games, maybe this company can improve the graphics. The characters and scenery weren't as smooth moving as Syberia and the cutscenes sometimes were extremely long...I look forward to a sequel?

The Longest Journey I bought this game by accident but let me tell you its the best adventure game i've ever played. I cant wait for the next one which is Dreamfall: The Longest Journey

Piece of art I think this game is a small gem, if a bit outdated in terms of resolution, the graphics are very nice and polished, as well as the music. I love the old Lucas Arts games, but in this case the mix of beautiful backgrounds and pixelated blocky April was... more
3 bad things about this game after 30 minutes of play Instead of being called "The Longest Journey" it should be called "The Longest Install". This 4 disk program was the slowest to install game I've ever seen. It must have took 30 minutes to do a complete install.
Once I started playing, I... more
Number of Reviews: This seemed like a good game at first but later it became clear that it's more like a boring movie. Conversations are SOOOO LONG that I wanted to tear out my hair - and I like the more story-oriented games; but this is waaay too much. It starts out pretty... more
A great long journey! I love this game. After I finished the game, I had a sense of lost! I want more! I want to spend more time with April and her friends!
The only thing that I hoped that they did was to put more content at the end. I want to know what happened... more
Pretty Good Overall From a Graphics Freak First thing: My copy played flawlessly, no small thing. The backgroud graphics were very interesting, which made the upclose ones all the more jarring. Still suitable. There is a LOT of dialogue. Some of the sound quality on my CD's was less than... more
A Journey You Won't Want to End... The Longest Journey is a computer gaming title as rich as any fictional universe of Earthsea, Hogwarts, Middle Earth, or Narnia. It's immersive and magical, with beautiful environments (even four years after release, the game still looks beautiful),... more
An excellent adventure game As many have already said, this is a great adventure game because of the story. The characters are well-developed, so much so that by the end of the game you will find yourself with an emotional investment in them. This is a true rarity for any pc game,... more
A Journey Across Two Worlds I just finished The Lomgest Journey this afternoon. Pardon me while I gush geekily for a minute.
What an amazing game! I've thought that computer games could be excellent medium for storytelling for a long time, and The Longest Journey is... more
One of the best adventure game in years I recommend this game to beginners as well as "hardcore-adventure" fans. Finally, a game that stands on its own and not another carbon copy of "Myst" (after all, the original will always remain the best). Of course, as the title suitably states, this... more
Even April fell asleep... I love adventure games and this one was recommended to me by another fan.
What I liked about it: the surroundings; imaginative and versatile. The voice acting; wonderful. The story; witty.
What I didn't care for: The yakking;... more
A model adventure game It is rarely that I play the same adventure game twice, even 3 times! With months appart I've gone back to the game, just to "read" the story again, and I keep finding new elements in this fairytale of a world.
It's a world of... more
the longest journey This is a short review. I hated the cussing, I may have been able to get through the whole game if it had not been for that and, blah, blah, blah..........................
blah, blah.
