I like this game but . . . .

Like a lot of other reviewers I felt that the SIMS 2 should have come with more object options. They give you different color options with the furniture but what good does that do if it still doesn't match anything else in the furniture options? I was under the impression that SIMS 2 would have more objects, more wallpaper options and definitely more building options (have you guys checked out those ugly staircase options). I really feel that Maxis should have included more of those options. The one cool thing that you can do in the SIMS 2 you couldn't do in the original is you can put doors and windows on diagonal walls. That was frustrating for me in the first one. On the downside of that when you go to put a roof on your house you have a hard time getting a roof on diagonal walls because it tells you the roof can't support the weight. What kind of foolishness is that? The auto rood option will not work when you have diagonal shaped walls (maybe it's a glitch). I hate the aspiration meter - some of their aspirations are too hard to fill. I also hate their need meters because they seem to fall so quickly I have a hard time keeping up with everyone in the family. Even when you only have two people their needs fall so fat it will leave you spinning. I mean I can only do so much at one time. Overall I like the graphics, I like the much improved pie options and I like the interaction between the SIMS, I like the baby option (there is a really cool scene when a pregnant SIM has a baby - mine just had twins). Even though I like the second one and I play it occasionally I still like the first one much better. Maybe when they come out with the expansion packs things will pick up some but I can't help but feel cheated by the selections I have.
