Simply Amazing!
I've been playing this game now since it came out back in October of 2004 and have to say what a VAST improvement it is over the original sims. The graphics are amazing down to the little details, such as reflective mirrors and the little idle movements that the sim humans do, like yawn and toss and turn in their sleep. The sims now are actually born, grow up, get married, have children of their own (that actually look like them!), eventually have grandchildren (who they know and recognize!) and pass on, leaving their offspring to eventually do the same. They have life aspirations that you can fulfill, or not, and the sims will react accordingly.
The little virtual people are really quite amazing. They definitely have lives of their own. Babies have little bellies that go up and down as they breathe. They giggle when you play with them, and if you toss them in the air too soon after they've eaten, they'll spit up all over you. Sloppy sims complain when you make them clean. Outgoing sims express their excitement when you have them interact with others. Female adult sims can get pregnant and give birth. It's no cause for worry, however. Though it's realistic, it's not graphic. (And males can too if they get abducted by aliens!) The level of detail acheived in this game makes the journey of life simply amazing. This game is a must try!
